83 members and 3 guests enjoyed our evening with The Greensleeves Morris Men last night!
We learned a little about the history of Morris Dancing, were given a demonstration and then had the opportunity to have a go. Photographs were taken, and there may be something published in the local paper.
Surrey Federation Annual Council Meeting
Lesley attended the Surrey Federation Annual Council Meeting, and the Chair’s Report, and the Financial Statement are both available on the notice board. Unfortunately, no one from Wimbledon won a bursary for Denman College, but we will be awarding our own, later in the year.
Resolution
The Resolution that members have chosen to go forward to the AGM is as follows:
“The NFWI calls on the Government to increase investment in the training, employment and retention of midwives in England and Wales to ensure services are adequately resourced and are able to deliver a high standard of care.”
Delegates will vote on whether the NFWI should pursue this as a campaign, and at the next meeting you will be asked to vote on whether Wimbledon WI supports this. Your decision will then be forwarded to the Delegate to vote on our behalf. More information can be found in the April issue of WI Life.
